What makes IPEE better?

We are very proud of our school and it’s ability to provide students with exactly what they need pertaining to their education and stay while in Costa Rica. Our programs are designed to provide them with the language skills that they need, but also integrate them culturally and technically as quickly as possible so that they may use their new skills immediately.

• All of the instructors have been trained in teaching Spanish as a second language.
• The groups have a maximum of six students: therefore, the students receive benefits from our individualized way of teaching.
• Our method of teaching emphasizes communication, while other schools are biased towards grammar. The didactic material has been carefully prepared to connect the areas of listening comprehension and oral communication.
• There is always a co-owners of the school present; therefore always a constant high level of teaching as well as supervision and evaluation. Concern about every aspect of the process of learning will remain a top priority.
• Our Institute provides students with books that have been prepared by the instructors not only with a grammatical but also a linguistic criterion; so that the language in the books comes “alive” when the student is immersed in the Costa Rican cultural environment.
• We have courses from as short as one week to six months or more.
• We have special sessions for winter and Spring break for students that have a limited amount of time and require college credit.
• We teach any age group, and any level. We operate all year round, not limited to just a summer session.
• We offer free e-mail access to our students to help keep the costs of international calling down. We have a separate directory for our students and they may access their mail any time our computer is not occupied with official business.
• We offer a Standard Spanish Course (4 hours per day), an Intensive Language Course (6 hours per day), a Spanish Medical Terminology Course (2 hours in the afternoons plus the Standard Language Course, Spanish Teachers Course, Latin American Literature Course, History, Geography and Socio-Political Aspects of Costa Rica Course.
• We have a very well developed week day excursion program and a weekend tour program to some of the most interesting and beautiful locations in Costa Rica. Or, we will help you organize your own custom tour, and help you obtain all the details.
